Make Your Own Vanity Mirror With Lights: A Step-by-Step Guide

Vanity mirrors are essential for getting ready, whether you're applying makeup, styling your hair, or simply checking your appearance. But store-bought vanity mirrors can be expensive, and they often don't come with all the features you want. That's why making your own vanity mirror is a great option. It's a fun and easy project that can be customized to your needs and preferences.

### Materials You'll Need:
  • Large mirror (at least 18x24 inches)
  • LED strip lights (at least 16 feet)
  • Power supply for LED lights
  • Wire strippers
  • Electrical tape
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Frame for mirror
### Step-by-Step Instructions: 1.

Prepare the mirror.

If you're using a framed mirror, remove the frame. Clean the mirror with glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth. 2.

Cut the LED strip lights to size.

Measure the perimeter of the mirror and cut the LED strip lights to the appropriate length. Leave a few inches of extra wire at each end for connecting to the power supply. 3.

Strip the ends of the LED strip lights.

Use wire strippers to remove about 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the LED strip lights. 4.

Connect the LED strip lights to the power supply.

Match the positive wires (+ wires) on the LED strip lights to the positive terminals on the power supply. Do the same for the negative wires (- wires). Twist the wires together and secure them with electrical tape. 5.

Attach the LED strip lights to the mirror.

Peel off the backing of the LED strip lights and press them firmly onto the back of the mirror. Make sure the lights are evenly spaced around the perimeter of the mirror. 6.

Reattach the frame (optional).

If you removed the frame from the mirror, reattach it now. 7.

Plug in the power supply and test the lights.

Plug the power supply into an outlet and turn it on. The LED strip lights should light up. ### Tips: * Use high-quality LED strip lights for the best results. * If you're not comfortable working with electricity, ask a friend or family member for help. * You can customize the look of your vanity mirror by using different colors or styles of LED strip lights. * You can also add other features to your vanity mirror, such as a built-in clock or a charging station for your devices. Making your own vanity mirror is a great way to save money and get exactly what you want. With a little time and effort, you can create a beautiful and functional vanity mirror that will help you get ready for your day.
