How to Hang a Large Mirror on a Wall

Step 1: Measure and Mark the Hanging Points

Begin by measuring the distance between the two hanging points on the back of the mirror. Transfer these measurements to the wall, marking the exact spots where you will insert the screws or anchors.

Step 2: Choose the Right Hardware

The weight and size of your mirror will determine the type of hardware you need. For lighter mirrors, simple picture hanging hooks or adhesive strips may suffice. For heavier mirrors, use heavy-duty D-rings or wall anchors with screws.

Step 3: Prepare the Wall (Optional)

For heavy mirrors, it is recommended to reinforce the wall with a wall anchor. Drill a hole at each marked location and insert the anchors according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 4: Insert the Screws or Hooks

If you are using picture hanging hooks, simply insert them into the marked points on the wall. If you are using screws, drive them into the wall anchors or the wall itself, leaving about 1/4 inch protruding.

Step 5: Hang the Mirror
